Warren Adler Short Story Contest Winners
We
are happy to announce the winner and
runners-up of our inaugural Warren
Adler Short Story Contest. First
prize, including $500, is awarded to
Kathleen Hood Haskins for her
short story "Natural Selection."
Runners-up, Barry I. Gold
with "New Shoes" and Jessica L.Q.
Calanayan's
"The Decision," also are awarded an
autographed first edition copy of
The War of the Roses. The winning
stories were chosen from hundreds of
entries from around the world on the
subject of divorce and/or the
break-up of relationships,
demonstrating the universality of
all the attendant disappointment and
angst associated with this traumatic
experience. Frankly, we are both
astonished at the response and
grateful for all entries.
Thanks for entering our divorce story contest. There
were so many great stories, it was hard to pick the winners. And with this
success, we're launching an annual themed contest. Check back often for details.
