My Life in the Movies
When I was a kid growing up in
Brooklyn, I
would go to the movies twice a week. In the
middle of the week when they changed the
features I would go with my mother, who loved
the movies as much as I did...On Saturday
afternoons, I went to the movies with my
friends. It was a Saturday ritual and the
theatres were filled exclusively with
rambunctious, screaming kids letting off energy.
During the chase scenes of which there were
many, the howls and cheers were deafening as we
rooted for the good guys, especially during the
westerns. The good guys always won. See
complete story.

Fiona FitzGerald Mysteries
Can't travel to Washington, D.C. to see the
cherry blossoms? Get there instead with one of
the
Fiona FitzGerald mysteries by Warren
Adler. Set in the political world of D.C., the
seven novels feature heroine Fiona FitzGerald,
a single, smart, sexy, strong-willed homicide
detective in her early 30s. The daughter of a
senator, she is a woman driven by strong
passions, both physically and intellectually,
battling prejudice and privilege to uncover
the truth in the Washington establishment.
From the introductory
American Quartet to 2005's
Death of a Washington Madame, sex and
murder in our nation's capitol have never been
this captivating.
